The title was supposed to be a cresent. I guess the author used google translate :) In Russian both cresent and month are spelled the same.

replyIn Japanese, the kanji 月 translates to both moon and month. Could be that, too.
replyThey're also connected in English etymology, as well as Saxon, Germanic, Greek, Dutch, Norse, etc.; the list literally goes on and on. In many ancient languages the words for month and moon were nearly interchangeable - and in most current languages, the words for moon and month also start with M. You gotta figure that in just about every early culture months were tracked via lunar cycles, so it makes a lot of sense that the words are related in many languages, and that the moon would've been a common topic shared among different cultures.
