Not meant to be. In the US and Canada at least (although, watching the Olympics, it would seem to me to be most of the world--although that may be because I see the Olympics on American television) "hockey" is a game played on ice. "Field hockey" is played running around on grass, and (in the US at least) almost entirely by girls in high school or college.

This puzzle definitely had an interesting way of being solved. It seemed to develop bit by bit almost.
