"You'd have taken a lot of flak" means you would have received difficult, argumentative comments, or, as in flak = hits, from the paint ball strikes. People are especially paranoid right now about gun comments. It is a shame, because there seems to be a "politically correct" opinion about how to view guns, that's not really an opinion. It's whatever the current acceptable political leaders and louder groups say, not necessarily the majority of people, just the most vocal and covered in the news. Great picture, by the way!
