I sometimes consider what logically follows if some specific square is filled, to see if a contradiction results (that approach is limited by my ability to keep track of multiple squares). I sometimes wonder how much of that the checking algorithm allows.

Anyway, this two-colour puzzle was an interesting variation; thanks.
