| EVA-01 | 25 March 2023, 8:15 | I didn't actually do this puzzle because it was too large. That said, the image is incredible. Still one of the best anime series I have ever watched. |
| Brainy Idea | 13 March 2023, 13:29 | This was at a 2 star difficulty when I completed it. Much harder than the difficulty let on. Very enjoyable imagine and a nice theme with the previous puzzle. Thank you, mindscrub. |
| A glass of... grape juice | 10 March 2023, 9:19 | This was a beautiful puzzle. The sense of motion is spot on, and that alone elevates this image above every other puzzle I've done that uses a similar theme. The change in color is just the icing on a very well-designed cake. It's a simple puzzle from a construction standpoint, but that is not a complaint. A stellar mash-up of accessibility and artistry. The smaller color puzzles are (or maybe, were) sorely in need of this calibre of creation. Thank you. |
| Car | 1 October 2022, 15:01 | Happy belated birthday. |
| The King is not Amused | 2 September 2022, 11:49 | Great comment. |
| Elephant | 27 August 2022, 8:08 | Sus |
| Man in Laurel Wreath | 15 August 2022, 13:44 | I never said that. Criticize away. I agree that this one was fun to solve. The image could have benefitted from a larger resolution. I only take issue with criticism that is unconstructive or derogatory. |
| Vladimir Putin | 4 August 2022, 13:48 | >>I am an *idiot* and this man is a *murderer!!* There, fixed it for you. |
| The Scream | 23 July 2022, 13:42 | It wasn't in your comments. It was the next comment, but not made in response to you. |
| The Scream | 20 July 2022, 12:35 | By the way, she wasn't talking about YOU. |
| The Scream | 20 July 2022, 12:21 | You're being criticized because you're abrasive to the general vibe of this community. That may be a language issue sometimes but ruining a puzzle by not using spoilers is not language related. Just be decent. |
| The Scream | 20 July 2022, 12:18 | No one thought it was the Scream movie. You literally posted an image of the inspiration of the puzzle. Just use the spoiler tag. |
| The Scream | 20 July 2022, 6:20 | The ONLY time you don't use the spoiler tag is when you actively spoil the puzzle? Come on man, have some dignity! |
| The Scream | 19 July 2022, 8:15 | But... but... original IP is unknown and unproven! And expensive! |
| The Scream | 19 July 2022, 7:08 | And let's all agree to stop there because the next 3 will only serve to irritate the fan base! |
| Frilled lizard | 17 July 2022, 13:34 | Contrarian just for the sake of it. As a grouchy old jerk myself, it's easy to spot one. It's obvious they have no actual substance to contribute and lash out in the only way they know how. What're you gonna do? |
| Sun | 17 July 2022, 13:06 | Are you a jerk because you find it funny? Or is that just your natural disposition? I know you won't respond since you never do so I'll just enjoy the last word here. |
| Sun | 17 July 2022, 13:03 | I'm actually frequently rude as I'm about to be to bisondele after I'm done posting this. But I do my best not to actually be rude to the creators. They work hard to bring us these puzzles. My goal with any criticism is to give the perspective of a solver with fresh eyes. It's often very difficult to see the forest for the trees when making a creative work. Lately I haven't found much to be ultracritical about since I really only do mindscrub and NapA puzzles with any frequency. My time on this earth is limited (and rapidly approaching an end) so I only lend my time to creators I know will treat it well. That all said, thank you very much for the compliment. |
| Woman | 16 July 2022, 13:45 | Again I agree that you don't owe anyone an explanation for your own tastes. But putting those opinions in a public forum--especially when they're counter to the general consensus--is going to invite scrutiny. But's that's your business, and I'll leave it at that. |
| Woman | 16 July 2022, 11:02 | First, I'm dying over here! That did not make the translation from Spanish to English very well. It literally says: "Go fuck super unsupportable little girl." Second, I think we can agree, citing the above fiasco as a prime example, that Google Translate may be our mutual enemy in this situation. Let's take a couple steps back and try this again. Hola! Mucho gusto! Me gustaria saber mas que tu opinion sobre este nonogram. Por favor. Probably not the best Spanish, but it's been a hot second since I've had to use it. I'm genuinely interested in 'why' you think this puzzle is so bad. I'm not interested in sparring with you, nor am I trying to belittle your opinion. Just interested in the thought process. If it's easier for you, please reply in Spanish. I understand enough to get the big picture. Either way, have a good day. |
| Woman | 15 July 2022, 18:14 | Your dog has more what than me? You can’t possibly mean education. Everything you write is riddled with typos, poor grammar, and disjointed use of the English language. If your canine companion has more education than I do, I can be certain that statement applies to you as well. For someone who just said “I never insult anyone” (and put in all caps like a crying child) you sure made a valiant effort in your follow-up post. But since the insult is “a lack of education and criteria” you must be loaded with both education and criteria (whatever that nonsense was supposed to mean) since your attempt at insulting me only proved to out yourself as a dimwit. And since we’re giving advice: maybe next time someone is interested in your opinion and asks you to elaborate, don’t respond like a pompous jag-off. And if you do, don’t be surprised when you get called on your shit. You and your dog are full of it. |
| Woman | 15 July 2022, 15:55 | Nope you sure don’t, but since you won’t explain, it only stands to reason that you can’t. In this regard you’re no better than all the sheep saying “love it” and “so cute” to whatever derivative penguin or butterfly or vase posts that day. In reality you’re worse because it takes no critical thinking to agree with art; but to disagree one must have enough mental clarity to articulate why. Since you can’t, I think it’s safe to assume you’re just a troll. Your low-quality shit-posting only backs up this theory. |
| Marshmallow Roast | 15 July 2022, 13:58 | Honestly, Luka is the first thing that came to mind when I solved this one. Not that it's a bad thing. Maybe this is Luka's skinny grandson? |
| Marshmallow Roast | 15 July 2022, 13:58 | You are crap and you are ugly. Boom, sizzle... |
| Woman | 15 July 2022, 13:45 | Can you elaborate on what you think is very bad? From where I'm sitting, the puzzle itself was well-made. It flowed nicely, moved around the grid and necessitated logic until the last few pixels. The image itself isn't beautiful but it's easy to distinguish what it is. A straight-forward reward for a straight-forward puzzle. Is your qualm simply the aesthetic? It's impossible to know without a more thoughtful approach to critiquing. |
| Woman | 15 July 2022, 13:32 | Looks a lot like Natasha from Rocky and Bullwinkle |
| Pokemon Menu Sprite 10 | 15 July 2022, 13:22 | All hail, Lord Helix! |
| Dave the Minion | 12 July 2022, 12:31 | This is not only hysterical but perfectly in line with not using a spoiler tag. People need to be aware of the content of the puzzle they are solving before starting. Won't someone please think of the children! (Seems like Illumination did just that to the tune of a few billion dollars world-wide. Smut peddling psychos!) |
| Pokemon Menu Sprite 3 | 12 July 2022, 7:11 | That was challenging. Very nice. |
| Rolls | 11 July 2022, 11:36 | Whatever it is, it's easier giving us a thumbs up or the middle finger. This author's recent Medium puzzles themed from a popular television show were very good. This... might be okay if we get word on what it is. The puzzle itself was fun, though. |
| Bird | 11 July 2022, 11:26 | I mis-counted a square, failing to fill in the last knowable pixel for the 11 in column 5. That one pixel cost me 5 minutes of starting at the screen, trying every advanced trick I could think of to figure out where to go next. For some reason, the resulting image now feels like it's mocking me. Well, I've a (title) for you right here! |
| Chick | 9 July 2022, 13:41 | Isn't it great when that one square falls into place and everything just starts moving again. Good on you for sticking it out! |
| Moon | 9 July 2022, 8:00 | Now I can't unsee that. Not that it's a bad thing; that's an interesting idea for a puzzle, especially with Halloween not that far off. Hopefully someone jumps on that idea! |
| Nonograms.org Flag | 5 July 2022, 6:19 | Bears a passing resemblance to the symbol of the Horde from Warcraft. |
| Jar with plants | 23 June 2022, 13:25 | This was very good. I'm not normally a fan of puzzles that utilize a lot of alternating pixels, but this was very well made. The pacing was practically perfect. The exterior item was quick to solve, and that made the pixel-hunting aspect that is the meat of the puzzle very tolerable. The abundance of white-space created a solve that relied purely on logic rather than just mindlessly filling rows, and the inclusion of the exterior item gave the piece a story that it would have sorely lacked otherwise. The ribbon is not only a nice artistic touch but perfectly placed to ensure every row inside the object has something to solve. The artist has managed to take a one of the most over-used themes in color puzzles and given us something that is both accessible and unique. Color me pleasantly surprised. |
| Star | 19 June 2022, 9:28 | I found it about average difficulty for the size. A couple seconds longer than 15 minutes to complete, and each one of them enjoyable. I don't do many artists' larger puzzles because the increased time commitment rarely translates into an image that is proportionately better than something smaller and faster. But I always do mindscrub's puzzles regardless of their size. I know going in that I'm going to get either a thoughtfully crafted puzzle or an excellent image. Often both. The 3-star difficulty for this one is a little inflated, likely because of the size. |
| Seesaw | 17 June 2022, 14:01 | This isn't among his best for sure. The problem with being one of the highest quality creators is that there is little room for improvement but plenty of opportunity to 'decline.' I don't see mindscrub's latest offerings as a downward trajectory as much as different styles-- some of which aren't as good as others. This puzzle on the other hand (https://www.nonograms.org/nonograms/i/57492) is one of his best. |
| Hiker | 12 June 2022, 11:50 | https://www.nonograms.org/nonograms/i/53131 |
| Ratbert (Dilbert) | 8 June 2022, 7:53 | Excellent. Not at all who I expected next. Not sure what he's standing on, but I certainly hope it's a keyboard! |
| Pointy-Haired Boss (Dilbert) | 8 June 2022, 6:09 | I was referencing a very old Dilbert strip where the pointy haired boss called about his mouse being at the edge of the mousepad and Dogbert sold him a $700 'mousepad upgrade' as the only possible solution. Wasn't sure if anyone would get the reference. Of course this strip ran back in the day of rollerball mice. I don't even use a mousepad for my optical mouse anymore. |
| Strawberry | 7 June 2022, 7:40 | I always find it interesting when someone finds a puzzle I thought was simple to be challenging. Not because I'm such a great solver and anyone who thought it was hard just isn't very good... not at all. But because I wonder what route they took through the puzzle to change the experience so dramatically. Of course it happens the other way around, too. I've struggled mightily on puzzles before only for someone I know to be an equally experienced solver to pop in with a 'nice and simple, thanks!' and it boggles the mind! Simple or challenging, this one was fun. |
| Asok (Dilbert) | 7 June 2022, 7:16 | Does that mean this wasn't the last one? I'm excited to see who else you have in store for us. This one was a little more challenging than I expected given the current 2-star difficulty. Pleasantly surprised by both the difficulty and the subject. Thanks! |
| Wally (Dilbert) | 6 June 2022, 7:36 | Great stuff, mindscrub. I really appreciate all the hard work you put into making these happen. I'm sure you have a ton of other ideas to work on, but if you ever hit a dry spell for new ideas... there's a certain hyperactive little boy and his stuffed tiger friend that could really use the nonogram treatmeant. |
| White fluffy | 5 June 2022, 10:54 | Very wise indeed, karen. |
| Pointy-Haired Boss (Dilbert) | 5 June 2022, 8:22 | Very enjoyable. Just difficult enough to really make you stop and think. Speaking of stopping, I had to pause half-way through. My mouse reached the edge of the mousepad, and I had to wait on an upgraded version before I could continue. |
| Dogbert (Dilbert) | 4 June 2022, 11:37 | This was great, mindscrub. Thank you for running with my suggestion. I can truly feel the contempt that Dogbert has for us humans in this puzzle. I feel like I solved it pretty quickly, but something tells me Dogbert is already planning a way to make a bunch of money by consulting on how I could be working more efficiently all while doing no actual work himself. An evil genius if there ever was one! |
| Lois Flagston (Hi and Lois) | 4 June 2022, 6:22 | Looking forward to it! |
| Lois Flagston (Hi and Lois) | 1 June 2022, 12:46 | If I could make a suggestion for when this current run of themed content is complete... I would love to see a series from the Dilbert comic strip. In particular Dogbert, Pointy-haired Boss and Wally! Thanks in advance for the consideration, mindscrub |
| Goalkeeper | 30 May 2022, 7:45 | Hopefully you don't lose your progress. I have (had apparently) completed all of Lalopop's puzzles. When I went back a couple weeks ago to do one of my favorites, only a handful of them were marked as complete. Very strange. |
| Dinosaur | 28 May 2022, 7:51 | But due to international copyright laws, it isn't. Still... we should run like it is Godzilla! |
