Starman29 December 2017, 4:00It's okay, Jimbo. Gotta call 'em the way we see 'em or the artists can't learn. It kind of looks like a crow on stilts to me.
Detective29 December 2017, 3:15The middle part looks like an old-fashioned bustle that got out of control.
Skull and bones29 December 2017, 2:48I can't imagine how the picture could be better! What's with this rating?
Cherries29 December 2017, 2:16
They look exactly like cherries in the thumbnail! And what a wonderfully challenging puzzle! Excellent job, Nata!
Pin29 December 2017, 2:01Great work, Alexander!
Hare29 December 2017, 1:55I've seen worse hare's in medium-sized puzzles. The thumbnail is really impressive! A challenging little puzzle.
Penguin29 December 2017, 1:30If you have difficulty seeing a pale color, it may help to use a different server. In this puzzle you can outline the pale pink with x's as you're putting it in squares across from other pale pink squares--then fill in the space with x's. The pale pink does add to the picture when your monitor displays it. ; )
Angel29 December 2017, 0:59This is breath-taking!
Spy28 December 2017, 22:43Excellent!
Kitten28 December 2017, 17:41Creative design!
Frog28 December 2017, 8:33Amazing! Beautiful! Satisfying! Thank you, sergey!
Cat28 December 2017, 6:43Nice job, Kimi!
Dog28 December 2017, 1:14Congratulations on your first crossword, Maksim! It takes a good artist to make a picture with so few pixels. Good job! Спасибо за прекрасный кроссворд!
Apple28 December 2017, 1:05Alex, congratulations on submitting your first crossword. It is beautiful, the colors are very nicely blended, it is a good size, and we look forward to many more wonderful crosswords from you! Thank you! And, in case you are Russian, Спасибо за прекрасный кроссворд!
Squirrel28 December 2017, 0:29Looking at the thumbnail again: what a nice picture!
Wolf28 December 2017, 0:27Great beginner puzzle! Cute and requires a bit of thought.
Rabbit28 December 2017, 0:24Well-proportioned. Nicely designed.
Camel28 December 2017, 0:11Haha, Corpore! How can a 5x5 puzzle be too easy? Great for beginners!
Cat28 December 2017, 0:09Excellent beginner puzzle, although no logic is needed--just counting. Great picture for such a small space.
Squirrel28 December 2017, 0:06Oh, I'm so sorry for the spoiler! I forgot!
Squirrel28 December 2017, 0:06It looks more like a chipmunk, although there may be squirrels with short tails. A cute picture and lots of "if-then" logic (not just counting) required. Really good for beginners and those who need to practice logic.
Plane27 December 2017, 6:41I agree with Jaylee.
Kitten27 December 2017, 1:39I find it a bit creepy. I am a kitten/cat lover and I think I'd run screaming from this one! haha! : )
Track cycling27 December 2017, 0:18Fun and interesting! Great design! I couldn't figure out what I was seeing until I saw Uffe's note.
Prayer26 December 2017, 5:20Note: this is not a beginner puzzle.
Prayer26 December 2017, 5:19Wow! This is an amazingly challenging puzzle in terms of "if a is this, then b is that" logic. If you find yourself excessively frustrated, please see my note on the color crossword "Christmas candles." There are different kinds of logic and it seems best to me to choose puzzles that use the kind that we enjoy (unless we are forced to do nonograms at gunpoint. ; ) Really excellent work, Artem!
Christmas candles24 December 2017, 23:01It would be helpful if we would try to describe the type of difficulty a puzzle involves.
It would also be kind if we refrained from disagreeing with those who find a certain puzzle difficult. If it was difficult for them, it was difficult for them. There's no shame in that. We were all beginners once.
I'd like to encourage people to use hints when stuck. It's a great learning tool. I'd like to encourage people to work to their strengths and have fun. This is not the Nonogram Olympics.
Christmas candles24 December 2017, 23:01Actually, It seems to me that there are various reasons a crossword might be described as difficult, that the perception of difficulty depends on the user, and (right or wrong) puzzlers are going to use the word "logic" in different ways. Users may describe a puzzle as difficult because:
--the solver is inexperienced (experience may be considered a kind of logic)
--the crossword involves a lot of math (another kind of logic)
--the crossword has a lot of detail requiring many color changes (a third kind of logic)
--the crossword requires the use of "if-then" reasoning (*my* favorite kind of logic and the kind featured in this puzzle), which some people find extremely difficult to learn while it's second nature to others.
Christmas candles24 December 2017, 21:04This puzzle is wonderful! It is one of the best I have found on this site! It is almost completely logic and only requires some counting to get the first few in (start at the top). Tell all your logic-loving friends!
Skier24 December 2017, 12:11What fun! (not a beginner puzzle)
Christmas bear24 December 2017, 11:46Cute!
Drain24 December 2017, 0:24Thank you, Judith. On the other hand, I have been sending thank you notes to the artists (most of whom are Russian--if they don't indicate it in the profile, I check their comments in the parentheses). I try to say something specific about their work. When I translate it into Russian and then translate it back into English, I get some very strange results.
Horse24 December 2017, 0:19That's hilarious. It's the first time this site refused to open unless I re-sent my message. So, yeah, go ahead and donate some money to those starving Russian artists while you're at it. (Now I'll have to re-send in a never-ending loop, I suppose)... [heh heh]
Horse24 December 2017, 0:17This might be a good moment to point out that never before have I found a site where artists contribute puzzles of this quality--and we are given access to them for free. Please encourage the artists. Especially those who are new and those who are different. We need variety and we need new people to take the place of the ones who burn out.
Black cat23 December 2017, 22:05I just did this puzzle for a second time and I like it even more. It seems to me that you are introducing a new artistic style. Also, I tried to get my cat to come sit with me before I did it. Of course he ignored me. Then when I wasn't paying attention he plonked himself down--right in my way. Cats have a bit of a prickly nature. Also, you've just started doing nonograms and we don't get talented artists with unique styles very often. More, please!
Dragon23 December 2017, 8:14I am unable to solve large crosswords, but I love your beautiful colors and I am fond of these creatures. Very nice, Maksim!
Knight23 December 2017, 3:22The thumbnail picture is impressive.
Old gossip girl23 December 2017, 2:24And I mean that in the best possible way... <3
; )
Old gossip girl23 December 2017, 2:23Dear old geezers and old boys... can't think of the W word for the female gender, eh?
Flower23 December 2017, 1:59Beautiful and challenging. Not a beginner puzzle.
Puppy23 December 2017, 1:28I love these smaller challenging puzzles. So much easier on my eyes! Note: this is not a beginner puzzle.
Witch23 December 2017, 0:24Good puzzle for fairly new puzzlers.
Harpist23 December 2017, 0:04What a great challenge and a fabulous picture. Quite the accomplishment getting such a complex image into such a small space. I agree with Jose.
Gardener22 December 2017, 23:43Well said, Femme!
The fate of the sinner22 December 2017, 21:42I was offended by the image at first as so many people fail to understand that in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, God's love is unconditional, unchanging, and universal. But then it occurred to me that we all get in hot water now and then and if I ignore the offensive title, it's an amusing image and of unusually good quality in the thumbnail. (If you care, according to all three religions, the experience of hell is a result of the pain of turning our backs on God. Even Dante has a sign over the gate to hell that say something like "Enter, all you who choose to do so.") But as y'all figured out, humor works better than fear...
Octopus22 December 2017, 21:28I enjoyed working this one. I would tip my hat to it, if I had one... Not a beginner puzzle.
Leaf22 December 2017, 21:00If Corpore says it's good, I'll call it good. My own "good puzzle detector" has crashed., but I *thought* it went well...
Scarecrow22 December 2017, 20:27The bottom five rows go so fast you think "wow, totally a beginner's puzzle." And then, maybe because my brain is not working, I got stuck. This is why I never rate difficulty. I never know when it's just me. And if I hit "hint," a little voice in my head hears the puzzle say "you idiot: how could you have missed That!?!?" I wonder the same thing...
On the scooter22 December 2017, 20:08Okay. Obviously time to take meds for this migraine...
On the scooter22 December 2017, 20:07)
