Looks like a cup of coffee in the lower left. Otherwise, I don't get it.
replyI see the cup of coffee and I'll raise you an apple and a lamp and maybe some curtains in the corner

I do not know what you people are on, but I want some! =)
replyit's not a lamp, I believe it's a big piece of fruit or, if that's a cup of coffee, then probably a piece of bread :D.
additionally, the little dots on the high plate can be fruit leaves, grapes, or flies :D
anyway, I loved this one, a lot of details!

I'm not an art expert by any means, but I think that most still life paintings that were of the impressionists' style were outdoors scenes - the play of the light and nature being an integral part of the style.
I also suspect there's a table or shelf behind the curtain with a quill sticking up on it.

A very small canvas for a still life! Doing the puzzle was fun, as Tverianka's usually are!
replyA still life can be anything; indoor subjects - like fruit and vases - are common. The term usually refers to things which will hold still without changing long enough for the painter to paint them (unlike a person or pet). Outdoor paintings are not usually called still lives; they are called landscape paintings.

Not one of Tverianka's best pieces of art, but a lot packed into a small grid and a darned good puzzle to complete! I'm seeing, from left to right, a curtain that's pulled back, a steaming cup of tea, a lamp with tassels, and an apple that's as big as the teacup. Hmmm... Maybe a small cake fits the scene better...
