And it's a pretty bad sign when people don't know the difference between a terrestrial observatory and a low-orbit telescope like Hubble.

More likely they don't realize Hubble is in orbit, but either way, a sad lack of knowledge.
replyI thought maybe it would be a gravestone. I'm listening to a podcast on LOTR, specifically about the Barrow-Wights and what did they do with the hobbits' clothes? That's creepy enough (especially since it's actually nighttime) so I was glad this turned out to be something quite different.
