looking at the thumbnail it is more obvious, but like Eve said, looks more like death to me. Guess I am stuck on Casper as the image of a ghost!

Never seen a ghost so maybe they look like this. Even if had seen a white ghost there could exist non-white ghosts, too.

I obviously agree that the word we (i.e. citizens of the U.S.) associate with this image is Death or the Grim Reaper.

But consider the appearance that is generally associated with the Ghost of Christmas Future from Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol," or the modern day Bill Murray adaptation "Scrooged" and you can see why someone could call this a ghost.
