It makes you wonder if the author created something and realizded it didn't look enough like any one thing to label it, or they deliberately mixed elements from various animals to get the image. Either way, it's a unique idea.
I see a costumed performer in The Lion King: The Musical.
And no, I'm not being deliberately contrary. The eyes and shape of the jaw really give me the impression that it's a person in some kind of mask, that's vaguely lion like. And because of the colors they use in the musical to make the costumes more dynamic (than they'd be if it was all just savannah-beige) the mask looks rather patchwork.

First thoughts are either raccoon or bear. If optical illusion allowed, two birds facing each other on their perches.
