I think I'm wrong above. I also searched under "Guns 'n Noses hat" and "alive hat." I think we're looking at a hat with a ribbon that goes under the chin, but couldn't find it. Maybe it's Eurasian or a translation error?

No, they shouldn't stop commenting just because you want them to. Nobody forces you to read the comments before figuring out the puzzle. Also, they all marked their comments as spoilers, so it isn't their fault if someone reads it anyways.
