This seems like you can't solve it without a hint, but it is possible. When you are stuck, think about where you can put a space, especially if only 2 or 1 black are left on a line.

I PRINTED it. PRINTED IT for goodness sake, so I used no hints or “check the crossword”. Anyway, this should be rated 5 or 6 out of 10 (not 9 out of 10 as it is now) for difficulty. Rate it 8 out of 10 for picture. BTW. didn’t need advanced techniques, more in-depth techniques I needed.

Super hard. A big slowdown in the first third. Searching forever, finding one spot, that doesn't do much, more analysing, more tiny spots that won't bring any breakthrough. I eventually, finally found the critical squares - and then everything worked out just fine. A big challenge for my level - but that's how we learn ...
