I knew what this was turning out to be - but probably a lot of young people have never seen one like this. : )

In fairness, not many older people saw one like this either. Even in some of those old stylized 50s romances, where the trendy Manhattan-dwelling woman might have a phone that looks like some kind of sculpture, I can't recall ever seeing one with quite such a large and round base and a fully floating, half-the-size handset. :D

Ah yes. Back when the battery never died, there were no dead spots, the speaker and microphone were always exactly where they needed to be, and if you left the house you could actually encounter peace.
