Didn't you have those requirements? We started with whole notes and progressed,at whatever the damned speed was supposed be, to 16th notes. The metronome had to be slowed down for me and I never met the minimum required. They let me try on my flute and French horn. No go on either. I finally got an exception to stay in the band because tonguing was the only requirement I couldn't pass.

I did honestly think that your reference "I had the slowest tongue in the band" was somehow related more to your much earlier "Swallow or spit" remark on here - rather than you actually playing an instrument.
