The almost-symmetry helped a lot.

This was very engaging. The solve was difficult but measured. After a scant few pixels in the opening, the bulk of the image came together nicely, never quite giving itself up until the end. The final pixels on either side of the grid were again tricky, forcing a mental workout to close out the puzzle. Very well crafted with a difficulty that suited the final image but without being needlessly taxing throughout.

The image is attractive and simple. The slight lift to the head keeps it from feeling flat although some detail in the background could have added a sense of life. That is just a small nitpick considering the rest of the puzzle was quite fine.

Overall: great puzzle.

I believe ultracritical said it all quite nicely.
