I don't usually enjoy when I have to look at the title to figure out what the creator was trying to get across, but this is a rare exception. mindscrub's image is wonderful, and the close-up view making use of the border of the grid is inspired. As soon as I read what it was supposed to be, I immediately saw it. But until this moment, I was convinced it was a lo-res rendition of Lavos from Crono Trigger! The actual image is much better!

Thanks! I certainly try to make sure my images are recognizable without the title, but I can see how this one could throw you with the blending into the background, as 3strikes put it. I will admit the early versions didn't blend in that way, but I wanted to keep the image small and for the other features to be clearer, so I dispensed with some border that one would normally provide.

It's amazing!
On such a small field, literally with a few strokes and dots to depict the face of an animal, and even really similar to a seal, and even with a "childish" expression - well, very cool!
