I was thinking maybe a fat pepper grinder, or an applesauce maker. Maybe that's because I don't drink coffee.

We had such a thing in a holiday home, where we had no electricity. A young man visited us and laughed at us, because we found grinding pretty hard. He'd demonstrate how to do it. And very soon it was our turn to laugh at him.
