That was easy!
I tried something different this time just for fun. I only placed Xs first. I found it harder than not placing any Xs because if you have a gap of 7 that should contain 5 marks you could place marks, but you can't place any Xs with certainty.

I have done that once. It does make a puzzle far more challenging.
