Nice! Tricky, but doable without Xs. Definitely a 2.5* for its size.

Oh, a pun on the title? You know, snake oil is actually good for you, but only in the way fish oil is. And I doubt most of these guys sold actual snake oil

That's one of the ironies of English idioms. We think the phrase refers to someone selling snake oil, which is a fake homeopathic cure. Except that actual water-snake oil is good for inflammation, and was a legitimate treatment in traditional Chinese medicine. But it was introduced to the US by Chinese immigrants brought over to build the railroads, around the time when a lot of charlatans were selling fake panaceas, and they were labeled as snake-oil when they were anything but.
And in some ways, the incidents that led to the term "snake oil salesmen" becoming popular, were the beginnings of the hornswoggling supplements market we're in today, where any jagoff can market a no-fail diet gummy or a miraculous new cure for memory issues, and as long as they're calling it a supplement, no one will do anything about the number of people getting ripped off unless the product is actively making people sick.

only in my head, I live in Australia. I am praying a lot for common sense over there though.

I'm so jealous of people who do get to vote in Australia. The whole universal civic duty voting and election days that feel like street parties, sounds amazing.

A little bored with this subject, but it's a good one of its kind and I appreciate a fun quick one
