I'm confused. I thought this website was for Japanese crosswords. This is an American crossword

Actually, I've always been confuse about the 'word' part of Japanese crosswords.

yet another dumb idiot, promoting guns and violence! Reported as such.

I thought the had been recent labeling to identify puzzles that could be controversial with an "over 18" label. I don't want the puzzles to be censored but it would be helpful to have them identified.

What exactly is controversial about a gun/rifle? It's not inappropriate or promoting violence, it's just a piece of metal. IDK why somebody would need to be over 18 to look at blocks that resembles a piece of metal?

that piece of metal has an innate history with violence, its original and current purpose is to kill (developed for effective warfare). it has a violent power and is triggering to see. yes, it is a niche interest and sport to many who do not use it violently or enjoy the violence of it, but it will never be separated from its violent nature. that is why people have issues and discomfort seeing it unexpectedly in a puzzle. basically, its not just a piece of metal for everyone and it would be nice to know about it beforehand. i know that for many, it is a symbol of the death of a loved one or of the death/violence of one's shared identity.

This site also has puzzles resembling owls. Some Native American (Indian) tribes believe that seeing an owl - real, picture, or symbol - is a very bad omen or bad luck and it brings fear to the Indian who saw it. Yet Nonograms resembling owls are not marked as 18+. Bad or evil things exist in this world and hiding them does not make them go away. If you account for every culture nuance - superstition or not - pretty soon this site will be filled with 18+ puzzles. Accept the fact that there are images and pictures of these necessary tools on this site. If it triggers someone so much that it bothers them, then that person probably needs to talk with a therapist.
