There comes a point in some puzzles where I cannot find a pixel that is "fprced" and it ceases to be a logic puzzle and becomes a guessing game for me. It's aggravating.

I got to that point then decided I had to use x's (sigh), after that it jumped into logic again

Ditto, I had to abandon the no-x attempt as well.
I'm quite certain all the published puzzles have been solved by software applying logic. so yes, can be done. When I'm completely lost and try hints, every pixel revealed makes me say "I should have seen this".
