I would add that there are common, legitimate "logical" approaches that could be reasonably describe as incorporating "guesswork," so maybe check in with what someone means before prescribing.
I would also add that some people may enjoy completing these puzzles using pure guesswork. If that is what they want, more power to them. "To each their own," said the lady as she kissed her cow.

Just requires a bit of concentration. I like this kind of puzzle.
