I would like to switch of the option where it shows a mistake. But I can't find a menu to do this.

Go to the Settings (cog wheel at the top) and scroll down to "Light the erroneous squares" - switch that OFF.

Thank you. I did find the option. It is more of a challenge when all aids are turned off. I admit, I still allow myself to sometimes click on "Check the crossword".
