Are you out there, Rickshaw? I think it's time for us to retire, and pass the torch to the next generation (I have no idea what they're talking about, but it has to be as witty as anything that we've ever come up with).

Dont pass it on just yet, my day is infinitely better with the jokes and support you all give me

Rickshaw here Onion!
I admit to being somewhat perturbed with 2 things:
First thing first (always the best way, I think) - I am in total agreement with you about the comments of "the next generation". Their comments have left me totally flummoxed.
Second thing is "the next generation" thing itself.
I did notice gurt a few days ago & did mention to maemir that gurt only comments on maemir's nonograms and that I had never seen them together!
They are funny - 607oli wrote a reply to gurt "Yo gurt"
3rd thingy - I now know what Aura farming is!
It's a viral internet slang term for intentionally doing things to cultivate an image of effortless coolness, charisma, or mystique.

Ah, they don't flummox me. It's part of the grand pattern, we get old, and get replaced by the young who invent their own dialects, just as we did in our time (the middle aged figure in all this as well, but I'll leave them out of it for now). I do sometimes play the grumpy old man, mostly for laughs, but I'm otherwise happy to see that nothing has changed.
So you think that maemir and gurt are one and the same? That's deceitful, and manipulative, or clever, and humourous, whatever. (I sometimes have marmalade with yoghurt; they go well together). I've seen "yo gurt". It was tolerable the first time, but should never have been repeated.
I had never heard of "aura farming", but it's been around since before our time. The kids have come up with a new name for it -- that's a good thing.
