Definitely stylized like a the pharmacist's icon version. Though I think these days, when most people think of a mortar and pestle we picture the bowl shaped mortar rather than cup shaped.
It's funny I've always called them pestle & mortar not mortar & pestle, sounds wrong to my brain the other way round, 60 years of brain indoctrination :)
