I thought Luka was proposing marriage, with the ridiculous modern habit of holding up a ring in a box. This can be interpreted in two ways. Either "I know you'd turn me down because I'm worthless, but maybe you'll reconsider when you see what pretty things I can buy you" or "Here is something I expect you to wear every day of your life. It doesn't matter to me if you think it's the ugliest ring ever made, because I will be your master and you will not need any opinions of your own anymore."
