Is this one truly solvable, or is it just "random choice/check crossword" play?

All puzzles on this site are fully solvable via logic (an algorythm tests them when you submit and kicks back any that have even a single square that can't be logically worked out); though some require more advanced solving and sometimes only a single square at a time can be 'proven' to be blank, filled in, or a specific color (for color puzzles).
While I didn't pay that much attention for specifics, there were a few points while I solved it that there were very limited things that you could determine until you fill in a few blocks, then a bit would open up for easy solving for a few, then be more difficult again.

I confirm I solved without using random choices or hints. Some passages are tricky, indeed, sometimes I had to sweep each and every column or row so to find the one single block that can be put at that stage, then redo again. Indeed at the end solving it was very satisfying!
