Thanks for another very challenging puzzle Vlan! Google Translate seems to be causing the confusion. Moose translates to лось, but going the other way лось translates to elk. I think we all agree that we’re seeing this

Same animal is called elk in Eurasia, and moose in North America. (The last elk in Britain died 3000 years ago, so English settlers in America had never seen one, so they used the native name.)
