replyYes the kid is cute but I believe the swim ring (instead of inflatable arm bands) means this is depicting a 1950's child - in those days at the end of summer there were two colours for kids - bright red or very brown (it was also the era before skin cancer was a reality / sunscreen / and protective clothing). - I was one of those kids. I was the red and constantly peeling one - my sister was the very brown one. :):)
