The origins of the character of Ded Moroz predates Christianity as a Slavic wizard of winter. According to some sources in Slavic mythology, Ded Moroz, back then also called Morozko or Ded, is a snow demon.[5][6] However, before the Christianity of Rus' the term demon had no negative connotation. This puzzle confused me right up to when I finished. I thought the top left was a flamingo's face (his mitten some red eyes, his hair the beak), and once I saw that I couldn't see anything else. Wasn't til I did the eyes that I saw it as a person. Haha!
