"Brutal" is an understatement! I had to pull out all of my brain tricks to figure this one out! Not to mention the extra coffee. What a FUN challenge! I love it!

I agree. I completed this puzzle in more than 1.5 hours. After reading your comment, I decided to test how long it takes if I cheated. I put in the left sole of the foot and it still took me 20 minutes to complete. I smell a BIG RAT!

It’s not that difficult if you start from the columns. You can quickly link the black squares on the bottom row. You can then identify the big chunks in the 1 1 15 ad 1 1 16 rows. The rest is trivial.

I had to leave this one and come back to it a few times -- which is what I do if I get stuck. Eventually, I found my way through it. Excellent puzzle, with the perfect amount of "brutal." Thanks!
