When I run across some of these very simple puzzles I first think about the beginner solvers and think if it is something that gives enough pleasure and encouragement for them to try more and get better. Then I look up the designer and see if they are the puzzle creation for the same reasons. HOWEVER when I see a designer that does nothing but the static designs I just roll my eyes and move on.
