"The Eastern Hemisphere is a geographical term for the half of the Earth that is east of the Prime Meridian and west of 180° longitude. It is also used to refer to Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia, vis-à-vis the Western Hemisphere, which includes the Americas. This hemisphere is called the "Oriental hemisphere". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ac9dPZYApIg

Yes, but the letters come from Eastern tradition. That is what this post is referring to.

So... According to that, most of the countries on the planet are "oriental". Or in other words, everything that is not american is "oriental"... Interesting point of view.

The meridian of 0 degrees runs through Britain and Western Europe. I guess everything to the east of that is technically oriental, and everything to the west is technically occidental. Seems weird I agree, but I can understand it.

The chicks are so sweet in the thumbnail. And how interesting to look up the background on this one. I've learned more about Russian culture doing these puzzles than I've ever known before.

The cake is typically Russian. No Easter bunnies in Russian culture.

Confiscated from pagan spring fertility symbols to incorporate into the new 'boring' religion to spice it up and make it relatable. ;)

I could be wrong, but I believe the X is the Greek letter fir chi, which. is the first letter of christo and the theta is for God, part of a secret sign that a person was a Christ follower back when they were persecuted in the early church,

If I've remembered correctly from another nonogram on the same subject, the second on the cake is the first letter of the Russian word for "risen"; so the dish as a whole celebrates the risen Christ.
