Too much white space for my taste, too many variables, no clue from the edges where to start, could have used one different color being alone on an edge for a starting point. Nice concept, I don't like the execution. Or the common clue, different colored eyes to home in on.
replyStart with blue. A lot of horizontal lines don't have any blue. So that narrows it down for the vertical blue blocks.

Really hard indeed. Surprising design. Tasty with olive oil.
replyThat was crazy hard. I figured it out logically, but there's definitely no real way to give hints. Had to bounce around the whole puzzle and determine what "isn't". Once I did that, I was able to start placing some colors on the bottom and the right side. (After the obvious fill ins).
Thanks for the challenge!

A little hard to start but once I found the pattern of the sea blue it came together well. Love this one, The white space ends up being a part of the picture instead of just nothing. Well done.
replyThis is a challenge, for sure. Don't give up. It is solvable.
replyOh God, it took me about an hour to do this crazy crossword and after I saw final picture I was like: no way, it can't be the octopus xDDDD That was really challenging, but I don't regret I solved this, thanks for though one
replyI'm having trouble believing the "average" solve time of 12 minutes -- it took me over twice that long! Fortunately, the comments made me feel better about that time. Great result - very unexpected, but made perfect sense once I saw the title!
replyreally tough challenge...it should be rated higher difficulty
replySuperb puzzle, great fun to solve.
And the picture is great in the end as well!
It's really nice with some really difficult ones with a, relatively speaking, smaller size.
