Japanese crossword «Gordon's Warted Frog (Theloderma gordoni)»

This was fun to do, but I didn't find it difficult. Once you get started, there is a high enough density of non-blank pixels that much of the puzzle could be solved row by row. I found the picture difficult to see once I solved it. But I attribute that to my own lack of imagination; others clearly liked it.

... I take back what I said about the picture. Once it was displayed on a small enough scale (on my profile), it leapt right out at me.
