It's a very nice picture, but... obligatory complaint about how the dark grey and black are too close in shade.
Seriously, no amount of tilting made it possible to neatly tell them apart, and in the end it didn't add much of anything to the end picture. You may as well have made those squares one shade. It made the puzzle difficult in a way that was more frustrating than challenging or fun.

this one was a bit of an experiment with lighting. i've said this before, but if the colors were too similar like you said, the puzzle would have been rejected by the website staff. maybe if you turned the brightness up on your monitor?

Sadly my monitor is as bright as can be :C Guess I've just not got the optimal screen for it.

Interesting... I didn't realize that puzzles could be rejected for that issue. It seems to be a very common complaint. I recently got a new monitor. My old one was just awful and I frequently had a problem seeing the difference between close colors. I tried not to complain. If you change your settings so you choose a color by clicking on a number that can help. Even so, I sometimes skipped puzzles.
I wonder if the staff could come up with some kind of setting fix for this. Maybe an increase contrast mode where you could work out the puzzle with really distinct colors, then change back to what the creator intended after you solved it.
Anyway, this was a fun puzzle and a creative subject.

Choose the "Use your palette" option at the bottom of the settings list. You can make the colors as garishly different as you wish. Then when you finish, they magically revert to the artist's colors. I had forgotten this until I saw your comment, and I sure would have used it here.

This made me laugh. I was working from the bottom and got the ghost, but could not figure out what the brown was. Very clever.
Yay! I always love your puzzles :). Once again, a fun and interesting one.
replyOnly real nitpick is that he was green in Rick and Morty. I love that episode

what does this have to do with rick and morty?
replyPicture was great, and I think that the solution path would have been more interesting but as above, it became mainly irritating trying to pick between the dark grey and black. There is a disconnect somewhere as this puzzle was too hard without the ability to change the colours, so it seems it's up to the submission judges to reject, warn, or change the UI on these (please?)

Dark grey and black are too hard to tell apart, but great picture.
replyok was doing the puzzle and had he problem with the black and dark grey, so looke at the comments. seriously, change your browser? get filter for color blindness? nonsense, not doing this puzzle. I have really like your designs in the past, but opting out here.

go to your computer settings and turn up the contrast.
replyThis color/contrast/lighting issues seems to be coming up a lot lately. Not being a designer, just a consumer, I am not in a position to comment on what is "rejected" or not BUT since many solvers don't seem to have an option to adjust their screen values to the same sensitivity as the editing staff, maybe that is where the adjustments need to be made. If there are enough users that are looking for that sensitivity than please find a way to warn the rest of the issue or part of the option sorting menu that can aleviate the problem.

The lighting of this piece is lovely - I especially like the white lines across the ghost - really looks like he's behind glass! Very well done!
And none too happy about it. I hope by now people have figured out there is a setting to pick the color so it is never an issue.

Click on the gear. Click on Advanced settings under Management.
Scroll down to Miscellaneous.
Use the drop down box "choosing color by a click on the number". I choose right click. Then when I right click on the number, the color changes to the appropriate color.
