Very sweet, and I love the colours even though on my computer and with my eyes, it was hard to tell colours 1 & 4 apart -- totally worth it.
replythanks for the color palette, made the picture even more beautiful
replyWonderful picture, excellent colors, fantastic for such a small size
replyThis is a perfect example of how a nonogram can be both incredible and frustrating at the same time. In a perfect world, a constructor would create a puzzle that challenges the mind while simultaneously revealing an image piece by piece. Here we have a beautiful image, one that the artist doubtlessly spent hours crafting. The meticulous pixel placement creates wonderful shading and the subtle bend in the background leg lends a sense of movement and realism.
But as a puzzle, this is a failure. A small amount of logic is needed to get a foothold, but from thereon it may as well be a paint-by-numbers. How does one accurately review something like this? The image is outstanding, possibly the best in the small category. As a puzzle, it barely qualifies as a nonogram. It feels like a film that has a deep, twisting narrative populated by diverse and interesting characters that is told by narration over a blank screen. Amazing, but not a film.
Sigh. I love. I hate it. Make of that what you will.

Would my opinions be more or less valid if this was a paywall site? I'm genuinely curious. Does my opinion make you uncomfortable? Did your comment add anything to the discourse at hand? I am all for dissenting opinions (just read some of my more scathing reviews to know that's the truth), but I'm at a loss as to the intention of your post. Was it just to waste your own time? If so, mission accomplished!
replyI mean luckily there are two rating options so you CAN rate this both as a picture and a puzzle lol

At the risk annoying others more than I already have, the rating system is for picture and 'difficulty'. In this case, difficulty and quality of puzzle are the same. There are puzzles that are very easy to complete, but still require thought at each step and are consistent throughout. There are puzzles that are very difficult in one or two steps but standard fare otherwise. A puzzle's difficulty rating is great for solvers to see what they're getting into, but does not always indicate if the puzzle itself is well-made.
A great example: Lalopop's small puzzles are incredibly well-made with each step in the process thoughtful, logical, and often moving around the grid to reveal the image slowly. She is truly an expert at crafting nonograms. The difficulty is often challenging, maybe 3/5 stars. But even her worst puzzle has a quality of solve higher than that!

lovely design, shades of brown were tricky, some people over think a "game', thanks

I doubt the creator of this puzzle considers his work a 'game.' Hours go into crafting an image as beautiful as this. As far as 'over-thinking' rosharp's work, I find enjoyment in the image, the quality of the solve and in my own deconstruction of both aspects. You're welcome to enjoy these puzzles as you see fit just as I am. Have a good one!
replyGreat colour choices - must dash now... have a life to lead... :):)
