Japanese crossword «Kitten»

A blue-point Siamese! When I was a little girl, I read about these cats in a Little Golden Guide on cats and wanted one - I naively supposed them to be blue like this kitten's eye. When we made papier mache animals in art class in second or third grade, I made mine a blue-point Siamese with royal blue points and lighter blue around them. I was so disappointed as I grew up and saw more photographs and realized that "blue" is cat-fancy-speak for grey and that the only thing truly blue on a blue-point Siamese is the eyes - and even they aren't as blue as this one's eye, though they really are blue.
