Quite the challenge with all the negative space, but such a lovely picture in the end! I did make a couple of guesses, though I’m not sure whether you absolutely would HAVE to do so to complete the puzzle or not

Me, too. And the picture isn't obvious as you solve it, so the guessing was often random for me. My "Check" button got a lot of use.
