Ironically, the episode that caused seizures, Electric Soldier Porygon, was the catalyst for the anime being localized for the US. The news coverage of the incident created awareness of the show, and 4Kids Entertainment made it known that any strobe events would be removed in editing. Still, the episode was never broadcast in the US and never re-aired in Japan.
