Sprite is the mini button representing pokemon that you can see in the early pokemon games. If you open the menu for pokemon team list, that's what is shown if you have Tauros or similar pokemon. If you click to see in detail, it's Tauros. But if you only see it in a menu bar along with other pokemon, it only shows as icon like this.
