Japanese crossword «Maple leaf»

I really enjoyed solving this - the method was somehow different from almost all others. It looks like the leaf of a Norway maple, a species now considered an invasive "weed tree" here in America, and certainly an alien. However, it is one of my favorite trees, because we had several in two of my childhood backyards that were easy to climb and quite lovely trees. I read much of Twelfth Night 10 feet up in one of them. There's one across the street from my window in our current home which is gorgeous in the fall. I helped persuade neighbors not to cut it down even though it's not native.
