White color is difficult to track against white background
replyHey! White is a terrible color to use for these puzzles! i'm sure you'll get that comment a lot in the coming days as more people strain their eyes to the point where they need to go see a doctor trying to solve this piece of shit. I just wanted to pile on to the dissatifaction.

I found the white inconvenient too but there's no need to be a dick about it.

That option isn't gated. All you need to do is go to settings and turn "beta-testing of the new page of solving the crossword" to "yes." Then you just click the gear next to any puzzle and the bottom option of "Use your palette while solving color crosswords" will enable you to do crosswords like this using high visibility high contrast colors.
replyAs others have said, the light grey is hard to distinguish. If you want a white cell, just leave it as uncolored instead.
