Japanese crossword «Whale»

There is a book called "Nightbirds on Nantucket" by Joan Aiken, which features a sea captain searching for a pink whale. Unlike "Moby Dick," this man was actually amicable toward the whale--he had rescued it when he was a child and had spent the rest of his life searching for it. There's a lot of other plot that goes on in the book, with the pink whale story being only a sideline. It was one of my favorite books as a child, and I recommend it to anyone!
