Also at one point I was really stuck and the key informarion that took me too long to notice was that a certain square was the darker shade of lavander and the others around it were the paler shade. A tiny bit unfair.

When colors are very similar, if you long press a color in the clue area, it will select that color, this helps when you get to delicately shaded areas.
