Excellent puzzle! All the interior whitespace made it challenging, and there was an unexpected element to the picture at the end (the last thing I solved).
I especially like the thing at the bottom right of the puzzle which suggests that something just happened...

I did have one question though: why "cat's" in the puzzle title? why the "'s"?
Very fun! The white space did make it a nice challenge, but the pattern became a little bit predictable, which helped. Solving it felt fresh and different than a lot of the other puzzles I've done lately. And the picture is delightful! Like reith, I got an unexpected discovery at the very end.
