if it wasn't a color puzzle, the column with the black spot would have been different.
1,1,2 in a black and white puzzle REQUIRES spaces between the filled in boxes.
it could only be X_X_XX where X is a filled in square.
In a color puzzle, as long as there are two different colors, they can be right next to each other. 1,1,2 with the middle 1 a different color can be X_X_XX OR XXXX OR XX_XX OR X_XXX. That's what makes it a color puzzle, even if it is almost all one color, or even if all of the "colors" are shades of gray.
