That's just how it is Sheryl - we can't help being "cool" - in the same way you can't help being "crones / hags / witches". Life is cruel.

replyBecause, as we age, discs in the spinal column degenerate (they basically dry out, get less flexible, and crumble). This cases spinal stenosis (narrowing) of the channel that holds all the nerves to the lower body. Because these get pinched, it is more comfortable and less painful to bend forward. Accompanied by brain and eye changes that make people less vertically stable, the process, if unstopped, has older people leaning over canes and walkers, and their internal organs get crowded. After a certain amount of time, it's irreversible.
Exercise, yoga, a good diet help. Awareness is more important - don't let this happen without a fight! Stay straight.
