Writing is always the hardest. I am the type that likes to calculate it out even if I know what it says.

god I had to cheat. I had to line the edges and check for errors, I couldn't figure out where to start

You could start this by the 39-40 vertical line. Then the horizontal 19-20 should help you. Then make sure to keep in mind the lines that have no white in them or the white is already partially done and can't reach, where you are counting. Good luck! I'm still at the start, but hopeful!

This had to be one of the TOUGHEST puzzles to START...figuring out (logically) after a while each letter and placing each one was fun and satisfying, but took me forever (Avg. time 1:33?...oh PLEASE lol). And even then once I got all the WORDS, I still had to randomly test along the right edge to find the last black "3-island" to get the rest of the picture. DO like the finished pic, tho!

Somewhat difficult, but only because it's hard to find where to start. Once you do, however, the entire puzzle solves itself. I'll add a clue in a spoiler reply to this message.

Concentrate on solving columns 36-55 first. Note that the 22-long and 25-long grey blocks in rows 4 and 5 can only be within certain areas of their respective rows, which prevents grey blocks from appearing elsewhere in those rows. This, coupled with the fact that the bottom few rows do not contain any grey at all, compresses the grey blocks in the vertical columns I mentioned. Eventually you will find one column where multiple tiles can be marked. This compresses the grey blocks in other, nearby columns, allowing tiles in those columns to be marked as well.
